"Acting is being truthful in imaginary circumstances.”
-Tom Hiddleston
Voice Acting
“I have always been of the belief that our ears lead our eyes to where the story lives.”
-Steven Spielberg
Voice acting is transparent at its best and inauthentic at its worst. A lack of authenticity leads the listener to hesitate, to question, delaying acceptance and reducing efficacy. In commercial applications, it diminishes conversion to sale. In educational situations, it leads to a lack of comprehension. In entertainment scenarios, it results in a lack of engagement and often results in abandonment. In all cases, it is a loss of return on investment by the content producers and advertisers.
Voice acting at its best provides synergy, as every aspect of the production is enhanced. For the voice actor, it provides a remarkable challenge and a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

Voice Description
“For the most part I try to hear the voice, which is one of the most deep and personal ways we present our very selves. It's like a fingerprint of the soul.”
-Daniel Day Lewis
My acting voice is described in industry terms as 40+, male, neutral North American. It is suitable for a variety of applications, from audiobook narration to commercials to documentaries.

Ranging from commanding and powerful to enticing to warm and intimate, articulate without affectation, and erudite without pomposity. Authentic and genuine.

One Creative Director graciously described my voice as being "As threatening as dark skies and the distant rumble of an approaching storm to as comforting as a favorite sweater, a good book and a cozy chair beside a roaring fire on a cold winter's day."

Background & Training
Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.
-Alexander Graham Bell
Many years ago, as a featured speaker at the Broadcast Promotions & Marketing Executives convention, the Network Vice President asked me to script, direct, edit, and voice a cross-promotion featuring our highest-rated program and one of the most popular fast food chains.
Recognizing a secondary career, I began by studying remotely, then on-location in New York City, attending Masterclasses with notable voice actors such as Grover Gardner. Later, I studied remotely and on-location with Marc Graue in Los Angeles.

I am primarily self-taught as an award-winning computer animator, copywriter, graphic designer, photographer, video editor, videographer, and web designer.
Additionally, for six years, I served as a Senior Technical Advisor and mentor for Apple, supporting almost all hardware, software, and services, including Final Cut and Logic Pro.

Having recorded in top studios in Los Angeles and New York City, I built a professional studio in my home featuring hardware and software from the following companies.

“Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.”
-Steve Jobs
Research online and discussions with former colleagues revealed three key difficulties in selecting voice actors since the advent of "pay-to-play" sites.
First, the demos do not apply to the task at hand. Second, they are not representative of the abilities and skills of the voice actors. Third, often, the audio quality of the final recording is subpar, revealing an absence of a substantive understanding of the industry.
With this in mind, I created the demos here using a combination of existing scripts and ones I wrote, from recording to music and FX selection to mixing and mastering at my home studio.

Please Note: If demos are unavailable they are being updated.
